This is pretty 1915 hat fashion! I just love this antique image from an old clothes catalog. The colors and style are supremely elegant.

What a pretty kitty! This is an awesome antique die cut of a beautiful cat wearing a blue ribbon. I've tried putting cute ribbons on my cats before; however, they don't sit there and look cute. The ribbon quickly turns into a cat toy as the cat twists and wrestles on the floor, trying to get the annoying thing off its neck ;-)

I've got two images for you today from an 1859 Godey's Fashion Book. The first page shows a design of an embroidered alphabet. It's a pretty image with all the colors. And, the second shows spectacular antique purse fashion. No doubt these would have hung from the waist band of a skirt, looking so very charming.

Here's a cute find from an antique Victorian book! The music from an accordion is quite fun and joyful, and I can just hear the top-tapping tune that little boy is playing ;-)

Aren't these head dresses spectacular?! It's difficult to image what women had to go through in order to get dressed and ready for the day. The layers of clothes, the elaborate fashions, and the strict code of modesty and decency made the morning ritual a production in itself. These hats, or head dresses, were incredibly beautiful and certainly topped off the gorgeous dresses worn at that time.

From an antique, 1910 atlas this is a map of Rhode Island. Using maps as backgrounds is my favorite way to use these images.

This is a pretty image of a beautiful lady. This image is from a 1911 postcard. It's a been worn and creased, but I think it adds so much character. I love when images are a bit aged.

These rabbits are adorable! This beautiful black and white illustration is from an antique natural history book printed in the 1890's.

I've listed my first couple of pieces of antique clip art in my Etsy store! Hooray! I've begun with some fruit and flowers.
Today's post of clip art is from an antique clothes catalog. It's some more Father's Day clip art of men's fashion. Hope you enjoy!

Here's a gorgeous piece of fruit clip art! It's a delicious apple called a Red Beitigheimer. This image is from an antique seed catalog that I've had for quite a while. I've given you both the .jpg and .png files.
Actually, this piece of clip art is in celebration of me reopening my Etsy Store, The Antique Image. It's taken me quite a while to reorganize and finally decide what I wanted to do, but it's finally here.
I'll be selling my very best antique image of all sorts, fruit, flowers, black and white illustrations, and lots more. I'll begin offering the images starting tomorrow!
My other free clip art blog, The Antique Image will become my Etsy Shop's blog, but I'll still post free clip art there as well from time to time. I'll also begin posting shop updates and creative ideas using some of my clip art.
I've been planning this for a long time, and I'm so excited to get started! I hope that you enjoy the changes, and don't worry, I'll still be posting lots of free clip art goodies here at Antique Images.

Here's some Father's Day clip art! This is a very dashing silhouette of a gentleman wearing a top hat. This would look great on the front of a Father's Day card.

Here's another antique advertisement example similar to yesterday's image. I've experimented a little with this one by coloring in certain areas in my photo editing software. I've done this before with other black and white illustrations, but I really didn't like how they came out. However, this image is just perfect for color! And, so is this one. I think it's the tone of the image that helps the color look so pretty.
This is an idea that helps give new life to old, black and white images and illustrations. I've given you the original, as well as my version, so you can use whatever colors you want. But, the original is beautiful by itself too.
