These are two colorful, bright antique advertisement illustrations for the Peninsular Stove Company. The first digital background image is an advertisement designed with an illustration of a volcano. The second digital background image is also an advertisement for the same company, but designed with a gigantic cauldron. The fire images are so beautiful with the deep, rich reds, yellows, oranges throughout the illustration. These antique background images are great for gift and hang tags, especially for gifts for the kitchen or baking.

I love digital scrapbooking! I created this distressed digital background paper for some projects, layering several background images, including a base of a piece of dirty paper I found in my garage. This is one of my favorite backgrounds. I found this antique decorative paper inside the cover of an antique bible. I'm currently using this as a background for the .png images I sell on Etsy, showing off what the images look like on a background.

Free Background Paper: Handwritten Page from Journal

This background is a scan from an antique, handwritten journal that's full of poetry. The entries are dated between the years 1831 and 1838. There are several different writers that wrote entries in this journal as each poem looks so unique. The writing is just beautiful and so precise and makes for a lovely background.

Here is an image taken from an antique book that would make a wonder background image or texture. This is the page where the chapter, Friendship, begins. I love the aged look of the page of this antique, Victorian book, and the words are wonderful as well. I have used this image a few times to decorate scrapbooking pages.

These four antique postcard clip arts would make wonderful backgrounds for any paper or digital project. All the elements, the handwriting, stamp, postmark, and the distressed wear of the paper make for beautiful graphic designs. And, postcard back clip art is one of my very favorites.
