Victorian greeting cards were beautifully intricate and fancy, and were created with several layers of decorated paper. Today's digital clipart image is of a papercraft frame design from one such greeting card. This pretty paper art was on the base layer, which is why there are lots of distressed areas. Despite the distress, this digital frame image makes a wonderful digital background for lots of crafting projects.

Today I've posted two wonderful digital backgrounds created from antique ephemera. The first digital background is an image of an antique, handwritten envelope. It was mailed in 1915. This digital letter envelope background would make a great design element for a gift tag. The second digital background clip art is an image of an antique map of Assyria and Babylonia. The unusual, asymmeterical shapes, myriad lines, and various fonts make this map illustration another wonderful digital background for many crafting projects.

Antique, Victorian wallpaper was gorgeous! These two antique wallpaper sample designs are perfect digital backgrounds for lots of projects. The first digital background download has a very vibrant and bold pattern with the dark colors and striking scroll and flourish designs. The second digital background download has soft, muted colors of beige, mint green, and off-white. It's beautiful and my favorite of the two backgrounds.

These are wonderful digital background downloads that I created from handwritten, shorthand samples, an antique letter, and an office slip for a class. I found these handwritten papers inside several antique books I've collected over the years. Images of handwriting make fun and unique backgrounds for many projects. The interesting and diverse styles of writing add a personal charm to any creation you can imagine. I especially like the second image of the antique letter, which was written in the late 1800's. The handwritten letter is tattered, torn, and very distressed and discolored, but that makes it so incredibly lovely.

This is a pretty, antique paper background download I created from the inside cover of an antique book. I love the aged, antique look of this digital paper. The simple Daisy flower pattern is wonderful, and the uniform design is perfect for either a paper or digital background in projects. I lightened the digital paper because it helps make other images stand out, especially when used in a collage project.

Vintage map images make awesome backgrounds. I love using map clip art for making tags because the busy graphics of words, colors, shapes, and outlines are visually interesting and beautiful. Map backgrounds are also wonderful for creating wrapping paper. For Christmas gifts, I've wrapped little boxes with paper decorated with map images, and then tying a simple hemp string around the packages. Gifts are so cute wrapped like that! I created this digital map background from a map of Alabama from a 1913 gazette book. I hope you enjoy this digital scrapbooking background in so many of your projects!
