Free Flower Graphic: Yellow Rose Clip Art Victorian Scrap Hand Whimsy
I just love yellow and purple together. This antique Victorian scrap of a big yellow rose and purple Forget-Me-Not Flowers is simply gorgeous. Each makes the other pop! I hope you enjoy!
If you are referring to the above image, the yellow rose image came from a Late Victorian scrapbook, around 1880's. This is a die cut called, a Hand Whimsy, which were popular in the Victorian Era. Sometimes Hand Whimsies were designed with a sentiment printed on scrolls. The type of flower, color of flower and a ring on the finger determined the meaning of the Hand Whimsy. Thank you for your comment!

ReplyDeletei found this image in an old undated bible, I'm trying to date it. Any idea what year the image was created or where it came from? Maybe a trade card?
