Isn't this an interesting black and white illustration? Adding your own words and customizing it with your own elements will really make this piece of postage clip art pop. And, I love the decorative scrolls around the envelopes. So pretty!
I recently acquired an antique seed catalog that was published in the late Victorian Era. I love them! Unfortunately they're very hard to come across, so this was a real treasure. I just know you're gonna find a wonderful place for them in your next project.
Aren't these pretty black and white illustrations? I'm in the process of scanning and cleaning up several illustrations from an antique, Victorian book that is full of lovely images.
Here is some dining or service settings clip art that I found in a Victorian book that I've had for several years. There is more dining clip art at The Antique Image.
This is an antique postcard from the Edwardian Era, 1909, that was sent as a birthday greeting. I took out the birthday message and cleaned up the area so that you could use the image as anything you wanted for your project.
Here is an image that I forgot to post before Valentine's day, and there's another one at The Antique Image. My apologies. Both of these antique postcards feature fancy dressed couples sitting on a river bank, enjoying the scenery together.
Here's the last two images of Victorian storybook covers that I'll post for awhile here on Antique Images. I've posted the last two of other images of storybook covers at The Antique Image. I'll have to find some more Victorian treasures in the antique stores before I can post more. I hope you've enjoyed them as much as I have.
Here's another colorful Victorian storybook cover. I just love them! I also love the myriad black and white illustrations that these books contain. This image would make a lovely tag for a child's gift or for an expectant mother's baby shower gift.
Victorian storybooks have very beautiful images on the covers. I've always got my eyes peeled for one at the local antique shops. It's difficult finding one in perfect condition; however, the worn and grungy look is what I love about them most. The years of enjoyment, having taken their toll, give the images such great character.
This image of a pretty antique postcard is perfect for Valentine's Day! I did a quick translation of the Italian words, and I believe they mean either, "Dream of my life", or "My life's dream". Isn't that romantic?
This pretty antique postcard has some lovely images of pansies and frames that would be a great addition to a project.
I spend hours in antique shops, and most of that time is spent searching through piles of antique and vintage postcards. They have some of the best images for clip art.
This would make for an interesting element in a project. I love antique advertisements and use them a lot in my scrapbooking. This ad was taken from a Victorian storybook.
These antique, hand-painted photographs are so lovely. They're so fun to use. I wish I had lots more! Unfortunately, they're very difficult to find in the antique stores near me.
Thought I'd share a project I've been experimenting with; I've been layering with .png formatted images. The first image is the clip art project that I created. I used this image of a butterfly as the bottom layer, and then placed this image over it after I converted it to a .png file. Don't you think it came out great?!
I posted a similar project at The Antique Image where I used another .png image of a handwritten page. I hope you have fun with these images and are inspired to create something special.
